Train your ears to listen to the messages that are quite low. The more you listen to EVPs the better you will become.

Remember to use the hissing sounds between radio stations for your EVPs. Lower the volume to a comfortable level for you and them. They depend on these sounds to manipulate the hissing and produce their voices to communicate with you.

Patience is a virtue, especially recording EVPs. It might take days, weeks, or months, but once you begin receiving them, it will not stop and they will eventually become clearer every time. On the other hand, it all depends on how in-tune are the spirits with you and you could receive immediate gratification. It has been recorded great success the very first time.

It is better that the recorder is placed on a surface and not be touched. An external microphone is important and placed approximately three feet away from the recorder, if you don't use one the internal mechanism of the recorder will be heard throughout the recording and any faint voices will be difficult to capture. If you use a digital recorder the internal mechanism will not be heard.

Always respect the voices. When your session begins, greet them. When the session is completed thank them for the help they have giving you and say good bye. Be there the next time, as you promised them or they will lose trust on you. It is better to practice once a week than to promise them you will be there the next day and you do not show up. That is why it is so important to conduct your experiments at the same time, place, and with the exact tools you have used in the past.

Use your headphones, preferably covering the entire ear to mask external sounds, when playing back the recordings. You do not have to invest in a new set, but it will help you.

To remove sounds not relevant to the voices we use EVP software, such as WavePad. You can download a temporary copy and then purchase it for about $45. WavePad is user-friendly.

Your consistency, patience and positive attitude will pay off in the long run.

Basic EVP Recording Technique

Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) is the appearance of intelligible voices on recording medium that has no known physical explanation. Many of the voices are thought to originate from deceased people. This is the primary reason that people first began experimenting with EVP. Others study EVP to better understand how and why it works, and to improve EVP experimental techniques.

The recording equipment need not be expensive or elaborate to work with EVP. As in any field of interest, some people are better at recording EVP than others. With patience, perseverance and good listening techniques, you should be able to record and hear EVP messages.

What? (Inconclusive)

A faint "Buongiorno" (Good Morning in Italian)

Several moans and "help me." This is particularly interesting, there seem to be a series of moaning and then the phrase. We gave this EVP for more analysis and a friend of ours suggested the moans are like the lady is drowining and wants to be found by us. We tend to agree with him. We tried communicate with the entity's voice after that with no sucess.

Question: "Do you want me to let go?" Answer from a male voice: "Less talking." We took this EVP from the famous landmark at Coral Castle. I "felt" something so I held in my hands Ed's chain link chair hanging by the ceiling. Bill took a picture at that moment and there was an anomaly. Apparently Ed was upset we were there and wanted to be left alone.

Question: "Would you like to talk to us?" Answer: ... A barking dog? Just an unexplained noice? And inconclusive voice after. Also, at the Coral Castle.

"I THINK IVE GOT YOUR MYSTERY SOLVED. WHAT I DID WAS RECORDED IT ON MY DIGITAL RECORDER, THEN DID DIFFERENT RECORDINGS SUCH AS DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SPEAKER. YA KNOW 1 INCH THEN 2 INCH SO ON. THEN I MUFFLED IT TO SEE IF I COULD GET A CLEARER SOUND. I DID FAST MODE & SLOW MODE ON THE RECORER. AND AFTER ALL THE DIFFERENCES I THINK IVE GOT YOUR EVP SOLVED. WHAT I GET IS A VERY ANGRY VOICE NOT DISTINCTIVE TO MALE OR FEMALE . BUT WHAT IT IS SAYING ON MY RECORDER IS .....LEAVE US ! LEAVE US ALONE ! Inconclusive voice.

During an investigation our investigator was asking questions to provoke a reaction. At the beginning of the recording you can hear a girl making playful vocal sounds and in between the investigator's voice a "hi" from what it sounds like a little girl.

During the same investigation a voice of a little girl came up again calling "that's my kitty cat." The investigator then saw a small kitten in the room and responded about it.
