EVP RESEARCH BY INVESTIGATOR STEVE

EVP:
There was an EVP voice which seemed to come from an unknown source. The EVP was examined at PAS Headquarters, then sent to Steve for further analysis.
Steve's Scientific Conclusion:
The sound appears to be something banging somewhere else. It is very low and so might appear as anything. Here is a greatly amplified version showing the wave and spectrum.

"I did a time stretch on the evp and have included it for your listening pleasure. It is really weird. It sounds like cool-like-cool, and is completely imbedded in noise. I can't seem to filter out the noise and separate the noise from the voice. The ringing sound is an artifact from the extreme time stretch and not part of the original evp. The initial knock is actually composed of 4 distinct knock waveforms in succession. Each knock waveform decays and repeats itself. I have included a picture of that in the file knock.jpg. Because the waveform is completely imbedded in noise, you can't get a clear spectrogram. However, the knock has a really strange spectrum, and is not like an ordinary knock."

Other EVPs were discarded due to complete contamination of voices and noises from other guests, not PAS Investigators.
REPORT
Investigation: STRANAHAN081807
Historical Place: Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Historical Paranormal History:
The Stranahan House, the oldest structure in Broward County:
-- Historical Credit: Stranahan House

Stranahan House stands on its original location at the New River in downtown Fort Lauderdale. It has been the site most closely associated with the founding of the City and its economic and social development. Frank Stranahan originally selected the site because it was where he operated his barge ferry across the river as part of the new road from Lantana to what is now North Miami.
Today, Stranahan House is the eastern anchor of River Walk, a linear waterfront park connecting Fort Lauderdale's historic district with the soon to be created cultural district anchored by the Performing Arts Center and the Museum of Discovery and Science.
Built as a trading post for settlers and the Seminole Indians in 1901, it quickly evolved into the post office, community center and town hall as Frank became Fort Lauderdale's first postmaster, a banker and businessman. He married another pioneer, Ivy Julia Cromartie, the area's first school teacher, and it was not long before dances and community festivals were held on the upper floor of the house. In 1906, it became the Stranahan's personal residence and remained so until Ivy Stranahan's death in 1971.
Following Frank's suicide during the depression, Ivy leased the first floor of the house to outsiders for use as a restaurant, while she continued to live upstairs. In 1973, the house was named to the National Register of Historic Places. In 1979, the restaurant closed and the Fort Lauderdale Historical Society took possession. After a thorough restoration, Stranahan House, Inc. was incorporated in 1981 to preserve and manage the property.
The structure, built of Dade County pine, is an excellent example of Florida vernacular architecture in a tropical wilderness setting. Expanded and renovated numerous times, it presently represents its 1913-1915 configuration. At that time the Stranahan's home had electric wiring, indoor plumbing and running water, interior stairways, bay windows and wide porches. All woodwork, flooring and paneling have been refinished and the exterior repainted in the original white with green trim. A new roof, a prototype for other historical properties, was completed in 1996 and meets current hurricane specifications. Although many of the original furnishings were sold or given away over the years, the house is furnished with fine examples of period Victorian furniture and decorative pieces.

First Floor: Other investigators found no changes in temperature or EMF.
Ivy's Master Bedroom (second floor): 0-1 reading with the KII Meter. Higher levels were found in correlation with photo evidence of orbs and psychic impressions. During baseline Temperature ranged from 68 to 72. No significant changes were found.
Photographs:
Orbs of different densities in correlation with spikes with EMF detectors in Ivy's master bedroom. No other significant anomaly was found.
Videos:
Start: 8:00 pm End: 10:45 pm
Blurs: N/A

Moving Orbs: Several were witnessed at the time a channeling was conducted in Ivy's master bedroom.
Other Anomalies: N/A
EVP Recordings:
Start: 07:00 pm End: 11:00 pm
Voices: N/A. What was thought to be an incarnate voice it was a normal noise from another room. Other EVPs were discarded do to contamination from other guests' voices and noises.
EVP Class: n/a
Temperature Irregularities:
N/A. The a/c was left on to preserve the historical artifacts throughout the building. No significant change in temperature was found.
Investigators Experiences:
Some investigators experienced anomalies such as temperature changes, strong EMF spikes, and physical and emotional discomfort.
Observation from an investigator: "We had continual EMF spikes with no electrical source. Steve would tell me where to place the EMF meter and it spike to over 20.0. This occurrence continued for approx 12 minutes."
Conclusion:
Based on the evidence collected, we have deemed the property as not haunted. We did collect enough evidence to declare there is a moderate amount of paranormal activity. The explanation for the results of our findings is as follows:
We were able to collect several EVP's (disembodied voices), all photo and video evidence was solely orb activity. Your property could not be deemed as haunted because of the nature of the evidence. The EVP's collected were able to explained under examination of 2 different audio programs. There is no definite photographic or video evidence of any spirits (orbs are not "complete" scientific evidence, unless a spiritual manifestation arises) collected in the upstairs area. We did conduct some poltergeist research that night in certain areas of possible activity and those results were negative. We did have some psychic impressions in the property that night, but no documentable evidence was collected.
