Note of advice: When searching the Internet be careful with Wikipedia. We do not want you to learn the wrong information. This encyclopedia-type source has become increasingly popular by pulling its highest ranking on the Internet, but it is certainly not unbias and its independent writers (some of them very skeptic and against the paranormal field) will write what is on their minds and not what they should. If you want to read more about this issue we suggest linking to aa-evp. Tom and Lisa Butler, the directors of aa-evp, are strongly fighting the definitions Wikipedia has on its site with EVP and other areas. Certainly, through out my research I have found that Wikipedia portrays anything or anyone related to the paranormal to be "controversial." Why "controversial"? Because Wikipedia does not want to give credit to the paranormal field in any shape or form. I suggest you be open and examine all the possibilities out there on the Internet. It is our responsibility as paranormal investigators to do so and to find the truth by researching, examining the evidence, and learning as much as we can. There are some Internet sources very useful: aa-evp, World-ITC, PAS Learning Center, and PAS Victor Zammit are good sources to begin with, but certainly not the only ones.

On October 14, 2007 at 7:25 am (est) Fox News invited the founder of Wikipedia to address the recent claims and complaints by the general public. Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, stated that he is aware of the fact that its contributors edit at will the information posted on his web site. Mr. Wales acknowledges the inconsistencies and promises to work on better regulations.

It is a fact that some encyclopedias, dictionaries, and other informational sources are some times completely influenced by the contributors' beliefs and the field of the paranormal is not a stranger to controversies by closed-minded skeptics. I have found incongruities related to the paranormal and one of them seems to be the definition of EVP. The American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena is trying to correct this issue on Wikipedia. For more information please visit them at www.aaevp.com.
